Rear Chassis Modifications – Moved round crossmember forward to allow more space for new fuel cell. Added square tubing similar to what is in MKIII. Added support for 3 Link items.
Suspension Parts – Replaced all shocks and springs, Replaced Panhard Bar and Rear Upper Control arm. Replaced Rear Lower Control Arm Rod Ends.
Radiator – Replaced radiator with an aluminum one. Rework radiator support for new radiator.
Engine – Removed engine and started assembly of new engine, BOSS 302 – 363 cu.in..
Team Boothman Racing conducted a post race debrief collecting lessons-learned from the grueling 2011 25hr effort. The team will rebuild and evolve FFR#85 to be faster and more robust for NASA 25hr 2012!
We retired from the race 18hrs in out of 25hrs. We ran 464 laps, 12th in ES class, 44th overall with the fastest lap of 1:55.833. The team performed phenomenal in such a grueling race having countless flawless pitstops, changing the clutch within one hour. The drivers drove fast, smart, and consistent lap times throughout the day/night proving FFR#85 is a force to be reckoned with.
Scott McKay set a stellar lap of 1:55 to put Team Boothman Racing 6th in class, 9th overall out of 86 racecars! John George is scheduled to start the 25hr race tomorrow at 11am PST.
